highly amusing

I can't believe that I haven't checked out Audrey magazine before! I learned about it today and, as an Asian person dating a white-ish guy, found their blog quite entertaining.

It really is puzzling that there are no Asian male "sex symbols" in the US. Growing up in an Asian city, most of our sex symbols were, of course, Asian. The editors mention the ever youthful Takeshi Kaneshiro, who I remember lusting after maybe 10 years ago, and, a new name to me, Daniel Henney accompanied by a VERY intriguing picture *wink wink*.

So, I Google him and find out he's in the new X-Men Origins:Wolverine movie, and this YouTube video result was so highly amusing for various reasons... the lyrics, the strange situation, the enthusiastic Korean captions that I cannot read, and the fact that you can literally see the girls melting into puddles in their seats.

i'm so tickled!

Audrey Kawasaki

Audrey Kawasaki is amazingly talented! She does oil on wood (what a lovely medium) paintings of defiantly vulnerable women, and I'm obsessed. I love the detail in her art, and the doe-eyed sensuality of her protagonists. I can't wait for her next print.

i'm so psyched about the upcoming project runway season 5 that starts tomorrow!!!!!

well, i was already psyched, but guess what i'm a million times extra psyched because i just found out that one of the finalists is one of my favourite indie designers, Leanimal!!!! remember this dress?

Yep, it's made by Leanne Marshall of Leanimal (and I get compliments EVERY time I wear it!!). She is so overflowing with talent, and so creative! I will for sure be hoping she makes it far in the competition! =)

are you wearing a book piece?

i finally had a chance to look at the new jewelry book, 1000 Jewellery Inspirations, that has 13 pequitobun designs in it, and it's so strange to see my familiar designs in a book! i had forgotten which pieces Sandra chose, and it was kind of fun to revisit the old designs.

i was also glad to see that many of the published pieces are owned by a few of my returning customers, it's kind of a double nostalgic bonus for me =). i took a quick picture of 2 pages in the book, every single piece on those pages are pequitobun!

coolio~, as my baby sister would say (actually, she's 19 but i still consider her the baby =)... the extra large picture on the left, grandma's treasure chest, is still available for sale in the shop, so if anyone is interested in buying a published book piece, here's your chance!

pequitobun has a new retailer!

The beautiful store Cog and Pearl in Brooklyn, NY now carries select pequitobun designs. They are located at:

190 Fifth Avenue
Brooklyn, NY 11217

YAY! I know customers like being able to touch and try on jewelry in person, so I hope some of you will stop by =).

Also, I've finally put the entire online Lookbook on the website. Lots of new designs from the Lookbook were added to the shop, and you can see all of them in the New section.

Happy 4th of July!
